Kathy Claypoole Gast, Esquire, also recently joined AB&A as Firm Administrator after practicing law in Maryland for more than 15 years. Gast completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Baltimore and earned her J.D. at Widener University.

In 2010, Ryan Black, RPR, CLR, CSR-DE, former Director and Chief Official Court Reporter for Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, joined the firm as a partner. Al Betz of Al Betz & Associates (AB&A), a court reporting and litigation support firm, announced that Ryan Black has joined the firm as a partner and court reporter. Mr. Black is the former Director and Chief Official Court Reporter for Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of the court reporting department of the Lancaster County Courthouse.

Mr. Black is a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR), Certified Livenote Reporter (CLR), and is a Certified State Reporter in Delaware (CSR-DE). His career as a court reporter spans 13 years.

The service area of the Pennsylvania operation of AB&A, headed by Mr. Black, covers Harrisburg, York, Lancaster, Philadelphia, as well as Wilmington, Delaware. He will also provide services as needed for AB&A clients in Baltimore, Annapolis and Washington, D.C.
